The Height of Comedy: Mainline Fundraise for Comic ReliefPosted March 30, 2015
This year we aimed high with our fundraising efforts for Comic Relief, sending members of our team up in the highest scissor lift in the UK for their Red Nose Day ‘selfie’.
A group of staff braved dizzying heights to take a record breaking selfie 110ft above Swadlincote, Derbyshire. Our very own 32m Megastar Holland Lift is the highest scissor lift in the UK so made the perfect Red Nose Day challenge. Brave members of the team took to the skies sporting their Red Nose Day funny faces and the rest of the team watched from the ground as they took their ‘selfies’. It was very windy up there and they had to hold onto their noses!
In the build up to Red Nose Day, our fleet of cars, vans, and articulated lorries had also all been sporting red noses, with customers and staff encouraged to take photos whenever one was spotted out on the road in a bid to win the Red Nose Day photo competition.
On Red Nose Day itself, all of the team came to work with their best funny faces on to enter the ‘Make Your Face Funny for Money’ selfie competition and other activities took place throughout the day including a quiz, sweepstake, Great Comic Relief Bake Off and cake sale.
Mainline Managing Director, Keith Williams said “I am delighted how well the team have embraced the Comic Relief spirit, some of the staff had never experienced such a high scissor lift before and were understandably nervous but they still got up there for Red Nose Day.”
