I would like to take the time to thank you and your Team for the last minute support you provided on Friday evening, (including your delivery drivers) as they also follow the same positive “can do- will do” attitude.
The request to deliver the following to the centre of Birmingham 3 x cherry pickers, 6 x scissors, 10 harnesses, 1 x 17 mtr Telehandler and 1 x 10 kva Transformer within 2 hrs.
I cannot think of many companies that would rise to the challenge with such a positive “can do” approach especially given it was 3pm on a Friday evening.
It’s worth mentioning that my client told me “getting the quantities of equipment before Monday would be impossible” it put a smile on my face when your drivers arrived with a full compliment of access equipment within the hour. The job has since been completed and we have a very happy customer.

The Glazing of Glass Wharf

The city of Bristol is gradually regenerating, especially in the old docklands area known as Temple Quay.  Glass Wharf is a south facing waterside promenade with more than its fair share of fashionable bars, cafes and restaurants.  It also provides aspirational office space for many businesses and a great environment for local people to enjoy.

A major improvement project is underway as one of the impressive glass sided buildings needs to be completely re-glazed.  The work is being carried out by The Glazing Face, an expert glazing solutions provider catering specifically for commercial, industrial and public service buildings.

Mainline Access & Training have supplied specialist access equipment required to carry out the delicate work.  One of Mainline’s 25 metre scissor lifts provides the perfect working platform for the workforce as they painstakingly replace each and every individual pane of glass on the massive building.  There are very few machines in the UK that can provide this degree of access and The Glazing Face needed to get to work quickly.  Mainline’s rapid response meant that the project was able to start promptly as required.

“After winning the works at Glass Wharf, Bristol, our client, Balfour Beatty, wanted us to have a prompt start.  There seemed to be a shortage of suitable equipment in the UK at the time and we were badly let down by our existing MEWP supplier on more than one occasion.  We were contacted by Lee Bodfield (National Sales Manager at Mainline Access & Training) who asked if he and Mainline could help.  The service has been impeccable and a machine was delivered to site within a couple of weeks of our first discussions.  After being on site for about a week, our client wanted a second team to start on another part of the building and again, Lee has provided a prompt service and a machine promised in a week.  Excellent service so far and looking forward to a long relationship with Mainline”.

Dinosaurs Unleashed in the Midlands!

Dinosaurs came back from extinction and roamed the earth once again in the Dinosaur Valley attraction at Twycross Zoo.

Mainline sponsored the attraction supplying the necessary hire machinery to unload the fifteen life-sized dinosaurs, a task that required careful planning and delicate handling to ensure no animals were injured in the process!

The display gave visitors a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get up close and personal with the dinosaurs including the popular Tyrannosaurus Rex and Stegosaurus; with the state-of-the-art animatronics bringing the dinosaurs back to life in a way like never before.

Carole Williams, our Director said “We were proud to have the opportunity to sponsor the event.  It is important that the next generation learn about the impacts of extinction and the process of evolution.  As a long term supplier to Twycross Zoo we are always happy to support them in any situation.”

A cherry picker was delivered to UPG in Tamworth and then Lichfield. The service was excellent, though Sam Murphy did 90% of the work the three drivers were great, very polite and we had a bit of a laugh. An absolutely amazing experience with these people from Mainline!
