Crossrail Development – Pudding Mill Lane
Crossrail are upgrading the Pudding Mill Lane Docklands Light Railway station to accommodate longer three car trains, improve pedestrian access, allow for increased passenger volumes and provide more connections to local bus routes. A new platform is being built alongside the existing one plus extensive underground work is being carried out to provide 5 new tunnel portals. They are currently using the following Mainline equipment:
- 4 x 6832 Diesel Scissor Lifts
- 3 x 1932 Electric Scissor Lifts
- 2 x HR12 Bi-energy Niftylift Cherry Pickers
- 1 x Genie Z45 (with Anti-entrapment)
- 1 x 17m Telehandler
The scissor lifts are being used to build the concrete formwork on the outside walls of the platform and, for safety, the HR12 Bi-energy cherry pickers are working in the underground tunnels as they don’t produce any fumes. The Telehandler is being used to shift raw materials between different levels on site.
Crossrail require extremely high safety and quality standards which Mainline has been able to achieve with anti-entrapment devices where applicable plus our excellent standards of service and maintenance on each machine. Another 15 – 20 Mainline machines will be delivered to the Pudding Mill Lane site over the coming weeks.
